We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which guides get read. That is the only tracking on the site. It never receives what you typed, and it does not run on your verdict page.
Google Analytics sets two cookies, named _ga and _ga followed by our property id. They let Google tell a repeat visit from a new one. They hold a random identifier, not your name, and they do not follow you to other sites.
We keep the resulting reports for fourteen months.
A verdict lives at an address that cannot be guessed, and that address is the only thing protecting it. Analytics would report the full address to Google, so we switch it off there. Your run is not counted, and the link is never sent anywhere.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we ask before anything loads, and nothing loads unless you accept. Your answer is stored in a cookie on your own device so we do not ask again.
To change your answer, clear this site's cookies in your browser and the question comes back.
Everywhere else, analytics runs unless your browser or an extension blocks it, which many do, and which we do not try to defeat.
The sponsor slots are plain text served by us. Advertisers get no script on the page, so nothing of theirs can set a cookie or watch what you do here.
The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. That sets no cookie, but it does mean Google sees the request. If that matters to you, a browser extension that blocks third-party fonts will stop it, and the site still works.
